Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 7+ years of related experience. 2+ years of experience with Azure. Experience with migration from On-Prem to Cloud. Proficiency in coding and scripting languages, with a focus on Python
  • Deep understanding of DevOps & SRE principles, practices, and methodologies
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure & GCP
  • Proficiency in IaC tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Proficiency with automation tools like Ansible and Puppet
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana and ELK stack
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Kubernetes
  • Experience with host-based traffic management services (haproxy, nginx)
  • Experience with event streaming platforms such as Kafka
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical challenges, identify solutions, and implement them effectively
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage foundational infrastructure and platforms across on-premise and cloud environments
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers
  • Identify opportunities for shifting from proprietary to industry standard tools
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes to ensure the reliability and availability of our systems and services
  • Conduct postmortems and implement improvements to prevent recurrence
  • Optimize service performance through capacity planning, resource utilization analysis, and infrastructure tuning
  • Work with colleagues to ensure the integrity, availability, and security of our infrastructure and services, both on-prem and in the Cloud
  • Stay current on industry regulations and standards, ensuring compliance with data protection and privacy laws
  • Create and maintain documentation for infrastructure and service configurations, processes and procedures
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers and other stakeholders to understand pain points and requirements, translating them into effective solutions
  • Apply DevOps/SRE principles to enhance operational efficiency and reliability
  • Cultivate a positive team culture, promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a focus on delivering high-quality results
