Requirements
- Hold Journey level Line Worker or Substation Electrician Certification or Electrical Engineering Degree
- Ability to lead others such as contractors, utility personnel and engineers who may also need additional training on Smart Wires devices
- Have 10+ years of HV commissioning experience
- Hold a BS or advanced degree in electrical Engineering (PE registration an advantage)
Responsibilities
- Manage the installation, Testing and Commissioning of Smart Wires' SmartValve and communications and control equipment to ensure seamless and reliable integration with the utility infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and quickly resolve equipment, communications, and command integration issues
- Develop and deliver technical training material to utility customers and internal stakeholders
- Provide remote and on-site support to Smart Wires deployments and team members globally
- Analyze customer data and performance metrics to make sure system is properly functioning
- Partner effectively with technical and non-technical internal stakeholders on a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commissioning or operations of FACTS devices
- Project Management experience
- Demonstrated experience in several of the following: Substation plant testing, commissioning and/or maintenance
- Distribution/Transmission protection testing
- Control system and SCADA design and/or testing
- Familiarity with DNP3, 104, and MMS/GOOSE
- HMI design
- Fiber optic system installation and/or testing
- Substation safety
- Substation equipment and installation/maintenance
- Network protocols, TCP/IP, LAN operations
- Substation security principles and concerns
- Putty and Wireshark for trouble-shooting
- Remote access tools such as LogMeIn, Teams, Zoom
- Electric transmission at major utilities or transmission owners/operators
- NERC CIP requirements and additional electric-utility cybersecurity requirements
- Working around energized high voltage electric transmission lines
