Summary
Join ServiceNow's dynamic legal team as a motivated attorney with 8+ years of technology law experience. Based in the US (flexible or remote), you will report to the Global Head of Privacy and Digital Technology, playing a key role in supporting strategic goals and providing legal support to ServiceNow's Digital Technology organization. This position offers the opportunity to work on challenging global data and technology issues in a fast-paced environment. You will advise on various legal matters, including data protection, AI, product counseling, vendor engagements, and contract creation. The ideal candidate possesses strong technology law expertise, excellent communication skills, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Requirements
- Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AIβs potential impact on the function or industry
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials, and membership in at least one State bar
- At least 8+ years of relevant technology law experience in a law firm and/or in-house legal department of a technology company
- Experience of the interaction between privacy, data protection and technology related matters, including privacy risk assessments, privacy by design and an understanding of key global privacy laws (e.g. GDPR, US State level etc.)
- Experience in product counseling, IP, licensing and technology transaction matters
- Knowledge and understanding of AI related legal and governance requirements, and an understanding of key existing and emerging AI-specific laws
- Proficiency in commercial contracts and excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- A demonstrated practical, real world, collaborative approach to problem solving with the ability to make sound decisions and exercise good judgement
- Ability to assess risk and provide concise business-focused legal advice
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to foster relationships and collaborate with internal clients
Responsibilities
- Advise on global data protection and privacy issues and regulatory requirements, and assist in carrying out data related risk assessments
- Advise on legal issues related to data transfers, data sharing, data usage, analytics and metrics creation
- Advise on AI matters, including internal governance, risk assessments and regulatory review, relating to AI development and deployment within the enterprise
- Provide product counselling, and advise on IP, software, licensing and other product related legal matters
- Advise on vendor engagements, third party integrations, and vendor risk assessments
- Project management and the creation of new/improved processes for legal support to DT
- Assist in the creation/maintenance/review of contracts, notices, policies, standards, and guidelines
- Support DT on the legal aspects of its Governance, Risk and Compliance program
- Support on training initiatives for various groups within DT
- Act as a strategic business partner to DT, supporting its goals to develop data-driven and AI-powered solutions for the enterprise
- Partner with other Legal teams within ServiceNow on a wide variety of legal issues impacting DT
