Summary

Join Atria, a membership-based preventive healthcare practice, as their Real Estate and Construction Management Counsel. You will be a key member of the Legal Department, working directly with senior leadership and various teams to manage all real estate and construction matters. This includes structuring lease transactions, negotiating contracts, managing vendor relationships, and providing legal counsel. Atria has a history of significant facility development and is poised for continued expansion, making this a high-impact role. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in real estate leasing, construction project management, and contract negotiation. Requirements

  • JD with 7-10 years of experience
  • Progressively increasing responsibility for real estate lease transactions and construction project management
  • Extensive experience directly negotiating real estate leases and construction and procurement contracts
  • Qualified to practice as in-house counsel in NY

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with senior leadership team and commercial real estate brokers to structure lease transactions
  • Review, draft, and negotiate leases and associated agreements
  • Advise on and manage landlord disputes
  • Oversee outside real estate and land use counsel
  • Oversee Atria’s buildout of new and existing clinical facilities
  • Review, draft, and negotiate construction contracts
  • Manage procurement process for construction and project development related services and equipment, including contract drafting and negotiation
  • Partner with business teams on construction vendor management
  • Advise on and manage contractor disputes
  • Partner with clinical operations and finance teams on equipment financing
  • Draft company-wide procurement policies and processes for real estate and project development transactions
  • Actively participate as part of Legal Department in supporting Atria on general legal matters, including commercial contracts, healthcare regulatory matters, data security, and compliance
