Summary
Join HubSpot's Commercial Legal Team as Counsel, providing crucial legal support to EMEA Sales Teams. You will offer first-line legal assistance on commercial matters, review and negotiate various agreements (SaaS, data processing, consulting, NDA, MSA, SOW), collaborate with internal teams, and partner with Sales to achieve business objectives. This role demands strong legal drafting, data protection knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Success requires efficient work in a fast-paced environment, a customer-centric approach, and excellent communication. The ideal candidate will be qualified to practice law in Ireland or England (or hold a reciprocal EU qualification) and have 5+ years of relevant in-house legal experience.
Requirements
- Are qualified to practice law in Ireland or England or have another reciprocal EU qualification
- Have a minimum of 5+ years of relevant in-house legal experience
- Have significant experience reviewing commercial contracts and feel comfortable running an independent negotiation process (Enterprise SaaS experience a plus)
- Have excellent legal drafting skills
- Have a strong foundation in data protection and EU privacy law
- Are enthusiastic about partnering cross functionally with business stakeholders to to understand strategic goals, and make informed recommendations to achieve business objectives (Experience supporting Sales teams a plus)
- Are able to make decisions and provide advice/explain the rationale for the decision to a curious and empowered team
- Are able to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced and transparent environment
- Appreciate the customer perspective and โsolve for the customerโ mentality
- Develop strong relationships based on trust with team members
- Possess strong communication skills, especially via an internal wiki, Slack and Zoom (itโs how we communicate)
- Are self-driven and solution-oriented

Responsibilities
- Provide first-line client-centric legal support to our EMEA Sales teams on commercial and legal issues
- Review and negotiate commercial agreements, which may include SaaS agreements, data processing agreements, consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, master services agreements, and statements of work
- Work with other various business teams on a variety of legal processes as needed
- Partner closely with Sales stakeholders to understand the business objectives and hurdles, and drive strategic improvements
- Collaborate with other legal and compliance practice groups to accelerate and unlock growth for HubSpot with a customer-centric mindset
