Senior Data Analyst

Summary

The job is for a Data Analyst at Coconut. The role involves leading data analysis projects, mentoring colleagues, and shaping the organization's data strategy. The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in SQL, data warehouse platforms, ETL processes, and Python. Bonus points are given for experience in Looker & LookML, SaaS organizations, the financial industry, and AI/ML.

Requirements

• A degree in a field that emphasizes data aptitude, and statistical & analytical skills (i.e. computer science, statistics, bioinformatics) with 4+ years of professional experience; or 5+ years applied experience in a quantitative, analytical, or similar field
• Solid understanding and relevant experience in interpreting, reporting, and visualizing the results of data analysis or data exploration in modern business intelligence tool (preferably Looker/Looker Studio but we will look at candidates with experience in Tableau or PowerBI)
• Writing, improving, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries using industry-standard languages. (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redshift, MariaDB)
• Working with data warehouse platforms, relational data models, and ETL processes (e.g., Redshift, AWS Athena, Postgres, Snowflake, and dbt)
• Leveraging Python to perform statistical analysis

Responsibilities

• Spearhead complex projects, mentor colleagues, and shape the organization's data strategy
• Design, build, and manage self-serve dashboards and views for users using business intelligence tools like Looker
• Explore and identify insights, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
• Engage directly with external customers to understand their needs and challenges
• Collaborate with the data engineering team to develop data collection, storage, and transformation strategies for downstream reporting and analytics
• Educate and support internal and external stakeholders to improve data literacy and data accessibility within the organization
• Participate in discussions on predictive model prototypes and ML algorithms
