Senior Designer

Summary

Join DEPT® as a Senior Designer and become an integral part of a team supporting a major client. You will design impactful experiences, lead projects, collaborate with creatives, and contribute to large-scale digital projects. Responsibilities include designing digital experiences, eCommerce, and lifestyle and technology content. You will build presentations, craft documentation, and deliver asset kits. The role requires strong design skills, experience with relevant software, and excellent communication and collaboration abilities. Requirements

• Knowledge, communicative, and analytical skills equivalent to those normally obtained through receipt of a Bachelor's Degree in a design, visual arts or a related field, or equivalent years of additional related professional experience
• Minimum 5 + years of experience in design and interactive work
• A high level of mastery of Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and Google Suite
• Knowledge of visual design, user-centered experience design, interaction design, brand development, and the creative process
• A love for typography, interaction, traditional graphic design, and technology
• A solid point-of-view and collaborative nature
• A diverse sense of taste with the knowledge necessary to apply this to various challenges
• Ability to build presentations and confidently present to stakeholders at all levels in a professional and effective manner
• An open and curious mind in all areas of creative and design work and the ability to remain positive even in the most challenging of situations
• Excellent organizational skills and a very high level of attention to detail
• High level of ability to set priorities in a constantly changing environment
• Possesses a high level of problem-solving ability in order to develop the solutions needed to address clients needs
• Able to act in a professional manner while working in a creative culture
• Follow through and ownership of getting a job completed on time and in-budget even with tight deadlines
• Dedicates time to understand the requested task, or feedback and decisions being made. Isn’t afraid to ask questions to ensure clarity for informed decision-making
• Comfort navigating a complex organization with multiple stakeholders
• Searches for and proposes process efficiencies
• Communicates effectively one on one and in large groups

Responsibilities

• Design experiences that set the standards for others to follow
• Design, digital experience, eCommerce and lifestyle, and technology content to create experiences that deeply connect with people
• Collaborate with a team of 15+ creatives, working remotely (PST hours) and interacting with a larger team of 40+ talented people
• Contribute to the design and production of large-scale digital projects: sites that tell stories and have large ecosystem considerations, best-in-class e-comm, animated product demos for onsite & retail, branding, and more
• Build presentations within Figma and Google Docs, craft documentation and deliver asset kits to developers and other team members
• Acts as a leader and a team player by contributing to the creative execution of the company’s efforts and putting the client and the team before yourself
• Bring business strategy to creative execution to drive results
• Responsible for bringing a point-of-view with fresh perspectives to the team
• Work with minimal processes in place, solving problems by being optimistic and using proactive thought processes and skills
• Collaborate to ensure that the company’s services and products always exceed the client’s expectations
• Work across all departments of BASIC, the client, and other stakeholders to achieve the desired results and meet the objectives of the company
• Support and grow in the role by actively seeking out and proposing ideas to better improve company operations
• Take on other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

Prototyping (in any software) and animation skills are a plus
