Senior DevOps Engineer

Join Rackspace Technology, a leading IT services provider, as a Senior DevOps Engineer specializing in AWS to support clients' cloud transformations. You will design and implement scalable software services, execute cloud engineering tasks within sprint cycles, and build cloud solutions for new clients using cloud-native components. Requirements

• You are a strong technical expert with experience in complex projects from conception to delivery, to deliver automated, secure and robust cloud infrastructure solutions
• With your comprehensive technical expertise, you will support customers in optimizing their workloads by providing application-oriented support in building, deploying, integrating, scaling and repairing using native AWS and third-party toolchains as well as automation-oriented agile principles
• Through hands-on and advisory approaches, you will be responsible for supporting customers with tasks such as provisioning resources and modifying cloud environments, performing upgrades and resolving everyday customer issues
• You enjoy participating in technical discussions at all levels, from architecture to hands-on programming
• Good knowledge of infrastructure technology is a great advantage, as is a programming background
• Through the use of personal expertise and close collaboration with colleagues, the position will be responsible for providing technical consulting services in a customer-facing role, often on-site with the customer
• You will be the voice of Rackspace to the customer
• Proven experience in designing and supporting AWS, including IaaS and PaaS in an enterprise setup
• Experience in building cloud automation, including CI/CD pipelines using technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Docker
• Scripting and automation methods such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, YAML, Go
• Technical knowledge in as many of these as possible: Public Cloud Architecture (Azure), PaaS (Containers, Kubernetes, Pub/Sub, FaaS etc.)
• Knowledge of common security practices (e.g., using IAM roles, KMS, etc.)
• Previous experience with the development of large-scale systems
• Possesses a strong understanding of cloud technologies and can articulate best-practice approaches and practices
• Strong communication skills, experience in customer contact desirable

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable software services together with engineering and architecture teams
• Execution of cloud engineering tasks within sprint cycles, aligned with best practices and templates within a customer project team
• Creating cloud solutions for new customers using cloud-native components
• Utilizing fundamental architectures and components to build automated cloud environments, CI/CD pipelines and supporting service frameworks
• Presenting architectures to customers of varying levels, from developers to business analysts to executives
• Advising executives and end-users with varying degrees of familiarity with cloud technologies on technology selection, best practices and benefits
