Summary

Join VERSES, a cognitive computing company, as a Senior DevOps Engineer to enhance our cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. You will manage, automate, and optimize cloud infrastructure, CI/CD workflows, and deployment pipelines. Collaborate with development and product teams to ensure high availability, scalability, and rapid feature delivery. Leverage your expertise in Kubernetes, GitOps (ArgoCD preferred), and Terraform. Contribute to Backstage integration and maintain internal developer portals. Ensure infrastructure and applications are secure and compliant.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
  • Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure management
  • Proven experience with GitOps principles and tools (preferably ArgoCD)
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with Github Actions
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of security practices in cloud environments
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote-first team
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
  • Understanding of core machine learning and AI concepts, including generative models (like GPTs), and an awareness of emerging paradigms such as active inference

Responsibilities

  • Infrastructure Management: Design, deploy, and maintain scalable and secure cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes, Terraform, and other IaC tools
  • CI/CD Pipelines: Implement and optimize GitOps workflows using tools like ArgoCD and Github Actions to automate deployments, testing, and monitoring
  • Automation: Build and maintain automation scripts to manage infrastructure and deployments, minimizing manual intervention
  • Monitoring & Optimization: Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve issues
  • Collaboration: Work closely with development, product, and other DevOps teams to ensure seamless collaboration and continuous delivery of high-quality software
  • Backstage Integration: Develop and maintain internal developer portals using Backstage to streamline workflows, improve visibility, and enhance developer experience
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure our infrastructure and applications are secure, compliant, and follow best practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with serverless architectures
  • Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Certified Administrator) is a plus
  • Experience with distributed systems and microservices architectures
  • Experience with MLOps
  • Track record for DevOps strategy development
  • Experience dockerizing on the edge in customer environments
