Summary
Join Underdog, the fastest-growing sports gaming company, and lead our Corporate Finance team. You will be responsible for long-range planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. You will also oversee investment opportunities and capital allocation decisions. This leadership role requires 10+ years of FP&A experience and 5+ years of people leadership. We offer a competitive salary ($250,000-$315,000 plus equity), unlimited PTO, 16 weeks of parental leave, and a comprehensive benefits package. We are a remote-first company with a highly engaged distributed workforce. The position may require sports betting licensure depending on state regulations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis
- 5+ years of people leadership experience; growing and leading a high-performing team
- Thorough understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights
- Experienced with scaling teams and organizational growth
Responsibilities
- Lead long-range planning, annual budgeting, and rolling forecasts, collaborating with department heads to ensure financial forecasts are accurate, achievable, and aligned with company goals
- Monitor key performance indicators and financial metrics to deliver actionable insights, identify trends, and proactively address risks and opportunities in a dynamic environment
- Oversee the preparation and delivery of financial reports, dashboards, and analyses to senior leadership and the board of directors
- Evaluate investment opportunities and drive capital allocation decisions, including assessing equity and debt funding options
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Corporate Finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, growth, and operational excellence
- Implement process enhancements within FP&A by leveraging technology and best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
- Provide CFO-level partnership to our People, Legal, Government Affairs and Finance+Strategy teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Banking background preferred (e.g., investment banking, corporate finance advisory)
- Experience in high-growth companies
- Prior experience with fundraising and/or public company operations
- Prior experience working closely with Accounting organizations
