Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years in data analysis/science with 5+ years building and managing teams, preferably at high-growth companies
- Visualization expertise: Proficiency in Sigma, Looker, Tableau, Mixpanel, and Segment or other data visualization tools
- Programming expertise: A strong background using SQL and Python to manipulate and analyze data
- Communication skills: The ability to articulate complex data concepts and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders of various levels throughout the organization
- Attention to detail: The ability to ensure data accuracy and reliability in all analyses across your teams
Responsibilities
- Lead Data Team: Lead and develop a high-performing data organization, including data engineers, analysts, and scientists. Define team goals, mentor talent, and foster career development and growth
- Define Data Vision and Strategy: Define the companyโs data vision and strategy as an AI-first product company, and translate the strategy into actionable priorities and initiatives
- Uphold Data Standards: Standardize data collection, storage, and usage practices across teams. Define and evolve data governance policies, ensuring compliance with security, privacy, and ethical standards
- Manage Data Infrastructure & Engineering: Oversee the architecture and scalability of data pipelines, ensuring efficient data ingestion, transformation, and storage. Ensure data quality, integrity, and accessibility for business intelligence and analytics
- Stakeholder Management and Collaboration: Partner with organizational leaders to understand business needs and deliver on cross-functional data initiatives that help stakeholders make informed business decisions for their functions
- Inform and Enable the Business: Manage the analytics and data science functions to deliver a robust, self-service data platform, surface proactive data insights, and identify opportunities for growth and product innovation
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in AI data architecture and recommend solutions to enhance Ontraโs data capabilities
