Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent industry experience
  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role (Director level or above)
  • Proven experience in leading the development of cloud-based software, with a focus on data security
  • Strong track record of delivering products with a regular release cadence in an Agile environment
  • Experience providing engineering-level customer support, ideally with a focus on Level-2 support
  • Deep understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and cloud-native architecture
  • Experience with data security solutions, encryption technologies, and security compliance standards
  • Familiarity with modern development practices such as DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile methodologies
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and providing technical support for cloud software
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to build, lead, and motivate engineering teams
  • Proven ability to make high-impact decisions in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience working in a data security or cybersecurity product company
  • Prior experience with customer-facing roles and the ability to manage complex customer issues
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements related to cloud data security (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor two engineering teams, driving a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Provide leadership in hiring, training, and developing engineering talent, fostering growth and technical excellence within the teams
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration between the teams, facilitating smooth workflows, knowledge sharing, and alignment with the company’s goals
  • Oversee the end-to-end development of cloud data security solutions, ensuring alignment with product goals and customer requirements
  • Ensure that the teams adhere to a regular release cadence, maintaining a predictable and reliable schedule for feature releases, bug fixes, and enhancements
  • Collaborate with Product Management, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure successful planning, prioritization, and delivery of high-quality, secure software
  • Provide architectural guidance and technical direction to ensure scalable, secure, and robust cloud-based solutions
  • Stay current with the latest trends in cloud computing, data security, and emerging technologies, bringing innovative solutions to the teams
  • Lead efforts to continuously improve software performance, reliability, and scalability across cloud environments
  • Oversee the Level-2 support process, ensuring timely and effective resolution of escalated issues from the customer support team
  • Collaborate with customer support teams to provide engineering-level insights, ensure root-cause analysis, and drive problem resolution for customers
  • Develop processes and tools that empower the engineering teams to proactively identify potential support issues before they impact customers
  • Drive the adoption of best practices for Agile/Scrum methodologies, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), and security-first development
  • Ensure that proper testing, security assessments, and documentation are incorporated into the development cycle to maintain high standards of quality and security
  • Establish and monitor key performance metrics for team performance, product quality, release cycle effectiveness, and support issue resolution times
  • Work closely with other departments such as Product Management, Sales, and Customer Success to ensure that engineering efforts are aligned with business objectives and customer needs
  • Collaborate with the executive team to communicate progress, challenges, and opportunities within the engineering function
