Requirements

  • 15+ years in software engineering
  • 10+ years in engineering leadership roles
  • At least 3 years managing managers
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience working in Infrastructure organization managing hosted environments
  • Experience managing infrastructure integrations that are in the critical path of operations (e.g. access management)
  • Experience building or leading infrastructure teams in a SaaS environment, ideally in AWS
  • Prior experience with AWS account management and/or cost management strategies (reserved instances, spot instances, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Establish a dedicated Infrastructure & Cloud Operations organization within engineering
  • Take on existing SR/DevOps and Infrastructure teams and extend to include cloud operations functions and IAM/Identity Management
  • Lead a team on the journey of maturing our application and operating posture
  • Manage managers and not a hands-on technical role
  • Provide overall oversight for the projects within your domain, making appropriate risk-based tradeoff decisions
  • Collaborate with other engineering leaders to drive the best overall outcomes for Rula

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a healthcare, fintech, or other regulated environment
  • Prior experience in mature startup or scaled engineering organizations (Engineering orgs > 150)
  • Prior engineering experience as an IC in a SaaS environment or as an infrastructure engineering
