Senior Engineer - Frontend

Summary

Join HashiCorp's engineering team and contribute to the development of the Infrastructure Cloud, a unified SaaS platform for Infrastructure and Security Lifecycle Management. You will own large customer-facing projects, collaborate with product and design teams, and act as a subject matter expert in front-end development. This role requires significant experience in front-end engineering, JavaScript frameworks, and leading software development projects. Familiarity with HashiCorp products is beneficial but not mandatory. The position offers a competitive salary range, and the option to work remotely.

Requirements

• You have six or more years of experience as a frontend engineer
• You have professional experience developing with a JavaScript framework (e.g., Ember.js, Angular, Nuxt, or Next), and you are interested in working with modern Ember.js
• You enjoy working collaboratively with a distributed team including remote and in-office team members
• You have developed the skill of leveling up your peers through code and design reviews, pair programming, and mentorship
• You have experience delivering stable, robust software in large and complex codebases
• You have experience leading software development projects from concept to delivery
• You have strong written communication skills, and you understand how to use tools and processes to asynchronously unblock and guide your peers
• You have familiarity or are willing to learn the key workflows involved in HashiCorp products (Terraform, Packer, Vagrant, Waypoint, Nomad, Vault, Boundary, Consul)

Responsibilities

• Own large customer-facing projects, judiciously evaluate trade offs and remove project blockers
• Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to help guide major product innovations from concept to Beta to GA release
• Partner with design on feasibility, responsiveness, and details of components
• Act as a subject matter expert on quality front-end development, including accessibility, testing, data handling, and user experience
• Create data-rich interfaces using the latest web standards
• Empathize with the end user and be their voice when influencing priorities and technical decisions
• Participate in cross-team working groups while developing your knowledge as a subject matter expert
• Enable your teammates through technical contributions, code reviews, and pairing
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to determine and prioritize new features and enhancements critical to the success of HashiCorp customers and community

Preferred Qualifications

• You have experience using HashiCorp products (Terraform, Packer, Waypoint, Nomad, Vault, Boundary, Consul)
• You have prior experience working in cloud platform engineering teams
