Senior Engineering Manager

Summary

The job is for a Client Engineering Team Lead at Strava based in Denver, CO. The role involves leading a team of engineers, driving the strategy for frameworks and tools, and working closely with other engineering leaders on team-wide initiatives.

Requirements

• Have experience leading and managing teams of 6+ engineers
• Have experience working with internal customers and partnering with staff+ engineers to make long term technology decisions
• Have expertise in at least one of the client technology stacks: Android (Kotlin), iOS (Swift) or Web (React, Server Side Rendering and Micro Front Ends)
• Be able to balance the tension between long term foundational work and incremental improvements to make internal customers’ lives better
• Have a track record of improving developer productivity through tooling and architecture strategies

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of client engineers supporting Android, iOS and Frontend Web technologies at Strava
• Advocate for foundational work that elevates product and business needs for the long-term
• Drive the strategy for Frameworks and Tools including build systems, design systems, localization systems and platform specific frameworks
• Build an inclusive and impactful team culture within your team
• Work closely with other engineering leaders on team wide initiatives such as hiring, the intern program and career development

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in coaching the engineers on the team and supporting their career development, at all different levels and career stages
