Requirements
- Have experience in designing scalable, maintainable systems with a solid architectural understanding
- Have successfully led one or more teams as a people manager
- Communicate clearly, handle escalations effectively, and ensure continuous progress
- Possess strong problem-solving skills, enabling you to troubleshoot issues effectively by asking the right questions and helping the team focus on what truly matters

- Have a high level of technical proficiency with some of Hippo’s tech stack, including JavaScript/ Node.js , React, and Python
- Possess strong knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and systems design
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of eight engineers responsible for one of Hippo’s two strategic charters
- Mentor both senior and junior engineers, fostering their growth for higher impact and effective teamwork
- Collaborate with talented Product Managers to manage the team’s project roadmap, ensuring a balance of technical excellence, agility, and user benefit
- Influence and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders within Hippo, including Sales, Retention, UX Design, QA, Data, and Finance
- Demonstrate technical leadership with a data-driven approach, emphasizing excellent execution and high-quality software delivery
- Coordinate with teams in our global locations across the US and Poland
