Summary
Join 1047 Games, a permanently remote company, and become a Concept Artist contributing to a new shooter in the Splitgate universe. You will collaborate with art directors and other artists to create high-quality concept art for environments and props. This role requires strong 2D and 3D skills, excellent communication, and a collaborative spirit. You'll be responsible for creating various design assets, ensuring visual consistency, and working with 3D artists and outsourcing teams. Success requires a strong portfolio showcasing AAA-level concept art and a holistic design mindset. The ideal candidate is passionate about games and possesses a keen problem-solving ability.
Requirements
- Ability to iterate on concepts with feedback from the Art Director
- Professional attitude, listening skills and an ability to take constructive criticism
- Strong 2D drawing skills
- Proficient in 3D for blockouts
- Self-driven, good communicator, and a great team player
- A portfolio that meets or exceeds industry standard for AAA concept art
- Holistic design mindset and willingness to learn
- Be able to act autonomously if the need arises
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with 3D software (Blender/Maya/3D Coat)
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Art Director and Concept Artists to produce designs that meet the established art direction
- Breakdown complex problems and ensure visual consistency
- Create thumbnails, sketches, model sheets and production paintings
- Create functional concept art that helps establish the vision for the environment, giving the team clear direction
- Ensure concepts are within bounds of Level and Game Design
- Collaborate with 3D Artists by providing paint-overs
- Work closely with production to deliver quality artwork on time
- Contribute original visual designs throughout pre-production and production
- Work with outsourcing, providing feedback on concepts and 3D models
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Unreal engine
- Shipped game titles
