Summary

Join Hootsuite as a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A to contribute to the company's growth. You will develop and maintain financial plans, forecasts, and reports, collaborating with stakeholders to provide financial insights and support business decisions. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, financial planning system support, and decision support. You will work remotely or in a hybrid arrangement, reporting to the Senior Director, FP&A. The role requires significant FP&A experience, a professional accounting designation (CPA, CFA, CBV, or MBA preferred), and strong financial modeling skills. Success in this position demands problem-solving, collaboration, communication, resilience, and a customer-focused approach.

Requirements

  • Significant relevant experience in an FP&A business partnership capacity or similar role
  • Financial modeling and analyzing data and performance, particularly strong knowledge of Google Sheets and Netsuite
  • Problem Solving: uses an organized and logical approach to find solutions to complex problems. Looks beyond the obvious to understand the root cause of problems

Responsibilities

  • Develop tools and templates necessary to support and effectively consolidate departmental budgets and forecasts
  • Develop and implement related processes to build scalable solutions to support the next wave of Hootsuite’s growth
  • Serve as a key business partner to assigned departments working directly with stakeholders to provide assistance with budgeting and reporting
  • Present findings and business recommendations in a simple way for stakeholders to understand their Operating expense spend
  • Monitor actual results vs. budget and meet regularly with budget holders to review variances and changes to forecasts
  • Support recurring consolidated management, and board reporting, with clear narratives on variances and overall performance
  • Develop/ maintain processes to report on Headcount / hiring plans against budget in a timely manner and ensure deviation from plan/ budget impact is communicated
  • Support continuous improvement of Adaptive, Financial planning system and ensure ongoing audits/ control requirements are met
  • Serve as a key business partner working directly with stakeholders to provide financial analysis and support in regards to strategic planning, scenario modeling and development of business cases
  • Provide analysis, commentary and insights for inclusion in corporate performance reporting to executives, Board and investors
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency by identifying financial and operational control gaps and making recommendations to mitigate risks and improve internal systems and processes
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional accounting designation CPA, CFA, CBV or an MBA preferred
  • A strong foundation in Adaptive Insights, including knowledge of understanding/ writing formulas, and creating reports/dashboards preferred
