Join Sympower's growing international team and contribute to the energy transition as a Senior Financial Controller. You will be responsible for the accounting and control of European entities, including the Group holding entity. Key responsibilities include managing month-end close processes, payroll, and ensuring financial compliance across multiple jurisdictions. You will also prepare various financial reports, coordinate tax filings, and support the year-end audit. This role requires strong technical skills, experience in an international environment, and a detailed-oriented approach. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance/ Accounting and/or professional accounting qualification
- 8+ Accounting experience, preferably in the international environment
- Strong technical skills (systems as well as excel/google sheets)
- Strong communication skills and willingness to work as a team
- Detailed orientated self-starter with strong interest in process improvement and focus on timely and quality deliverables
- Fluent in English
Responsibilities
- Manage financial month end close processes including preparation and posting of journal entries, accruals and account reconciliations
- Manage monthly payroll checks and posting
- Take ownership of the quality of the accounting data, internal controls and financial compliance in several European jurisdictions
- Prepare information and coordinate filling of the VAT returns for local subsidiaries
- Preparation and filling of Dutch VAT returns
- Coordinate annual income tax return preparation and filling
- Coordinate statutory financial statement preparation
- Prepare group Consolidated Financial Statements
- Support the year-end audit for the Group
- Manage subsidiaries’ liquidity
- Collaborate with the local teams and wider organisations on projects with any financial insights needed both for financial planning/analytics
- Take initiatives in process improvements and together with Accounting Team Lead drive the implementations where needed
- Support Accounting Team Lead and the larger team as needed
