Summary

Join Skillsoft's accounting and financial systems team as a Sr. Financial Systems Analyst. Contribute to strategic planning, system analysis and enhancement, data integrity research, and system issue resolution. You will focus on improving data quality, accessibility, and integrity, while implementing process improvements and leveraging data analytics. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, and collaboration. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with accounting and financial reporting systems and in-depth knowledge of SQL and data analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Significant experience (7+ years) with accounting and financial reporting systems
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, financial processes, and general ledger systems
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL, data analytics, business intelligence, and emerging technologies in the financial systems domain
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a transformation and process improvement mindset
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to implement best practices, streamline operations, and contribute to organizational change
  • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., SOX, GAAP)

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic plans for the financial systems department, aligning them with the organization's goals and objectives
  • Participate in a high-performing team that encourages collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
  • Review systems feeds and financial data for accuracy, completeness, and integrity
  • Identify potential system improvements and enhancements, advocating for the implementation of solutions in line with best practices in data analytics and business intelligence
  • Participate in efforts to research and resolve data integrity issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Implement preventive measures, develop data quality metrics, and contribute to initiatives aimed at improving the overall integrity of financial data
  • Investigate and troubleshoot system issues related to financial processes, applications, and interfaces
  • Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and other stakeholders to address system-related issues
  • Continuously review financial systems, processes, and workflows to identify opportunities for transformation and process improvement
  • Contribute to initiatives aimed at streamlining operations, enhancing efficiency, and leveraging emerging technologies and industry best practices
  • Support the use of data analytics and business intelligence tools to encourage data-driven decision-making within the organization
  • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements to suggest and implement relevant solutions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, CISA)
  • Experience with data transform tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Alteryx
