Senior Front-End Engineer

Summary

Join Marqeta, a leader in Modern Card Issuing, as a Senior Front-End Engineer (React) Contractor! This flexible, remote role (Ontario or British Columbia, Canada) involves working within a Scrum team to build and enhance the Marqeta Dashboard, a web application for managing payment infrastructure. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, integrate with APIs, and deliver high-quality user interfaces. The six-month contract offers an hourly rate of CAD 67.00. Requirements

• 4+ years front end development experience
• Expertise with React
• Expertise integrating with RESTful APIs
• Experience with GraphQL and Node.js servers
• Experience building web-based interfaces for performing CRUD operations
• Experience achieving high percentage of unit test coverage with Jest or Vitest
• Experience building new features in large applications with existing patterns
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to quickly onboard to new projects

Responsibilities

• Embed in a Scrum team of frontend and fullstack engineers
• Attend daily standups and biweekly sprint ceremonies
• Collaborating closely with cross-functional partners (Product, Engineering, and Design) and key stakeholders
• Build new interfaces within the existing Marqeta Dashboard to support new Global customers
• Integrate with new API endpoints in GraphQL
• Producing high quality, well-tested, pixel-perfect work, and going the extra mile to deliver delightful and thoughtful experiences

Preferred Qualifications

• Payments or fintech experience
• Experience with AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD
• Experience with e2e testing using Cypress or similar tools
• Experience with Auth0 and role-based access
