Summary

Join Airbnb's Messaging team as a Web Frontend Engineer and build the next generation of messaging used by millions of users globally. Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including product managers, designers, and engineers, to design and deliver high-quality products for desktop and mobile. You will work closely with backend engineers to develop and maintain messaging features, design new integrations, and identify areas for improvement. This US-based remote-eligible position requires 5+ years of experience in web application development at scale, proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript libraries, and strong communication skills. Requirements

  • 5+ years industry experience developing Web applications at scale
  • Experience with modern JavaScript/Typescript libraries and tooling (e.g. React, graphql)
  • Fluency in HTML, CSS, and related web technologies
  • Strong product sense and a passion for UX product development
  • Ability to collaborate with Product Management, Design, and backend, and other web engineers
  • Passion for continuous learning and staying ahead of web development trends
  • Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Build the next-gen of Messaging used by millions of users
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners such as Product Managers, Experience Designers and other Engineers to design and deliver high-quality products on Desktop and Moweb
  • Work closely with backend engineers and other web engineers on the team to develop and maintain messaging features
  • Design & build new integrations across other teams within Airbnb
  • Identify areas of improvement and drive web best practices
