Summary

Join Calendly's Monetization team as a Full Stack Engineer and contribute to the evolution of our platform from a monolithic architecture to a service-oriented one. You will own the creation and maintenance of services, identify cross-team dependencies, and build applications in a cloud ecosystem. Collaborate with your team on new features, participate in Agile ceremonies, and support existing services. You will also contribute to platform scaling initiatives and mentor team members. This role requires 5+ years of software development experience in a SaaS environment and experience with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)/microservices. Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional Software Development experience at a SaaS or technology company
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) / microservices
  • Authorization to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time

Responsibilities

  • Owning the creation, execution, and maintenance of one or more entire services or functional areas and function as an SME for them
  • Identifying and navigating cross-team dependencies
  • Building and supporting applications in a cloud ecosystem
  • Collaborate with your team to build new features meant to provide the highest level of impact for our customers
  • Contribute to platform scaling initiatives, such as our work to transition away from a monolithic architecture in favor of a modern / decoupled approach
  • Collaborate with our Product and UX partners to add context and clarity to our product requirements
  • Participate in your team’s Agile ceremonies and processes
  • Support the features and services owned by your team
  • Facilitate and / or participate in cross-squad initiatives meant to improve Engineering practices at Calendly
  • Create implementation plans and pull requests and / or review those of your peers
  • Provide mentorship and guidance for your team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with a Monolith-to-Services architectural refactor
  • Significant hands-on experience with our team’s current backend stack Ruby / Rails / Grape
  • Significant hands-on experience with a modern front-end library / framework such as React, Angular, Vue.js, etc – we use React
  • A passion for creating intuitive software solutions, solving for sophisticated challenges
  • You strive to be a craftsperson, producing clean, reliable, and highly testable / maintainable code
