Senior Full Stack Engineer

Summary

Join HONK, a fast-growing technology company disrupting the roadside assistance space, as a fully remote Senior Software Engineer. In this role, you will work closely with our CTO and team of full-stack engineers to design, architect, and build new products and features.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong background in full-stack development
• Expertise in building highly dynamic web applications in an agile environment
• Proven experience with Ruby on Rails apps, RESTful APIs, and real-time, location-based systems
• Solid understanding of both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (Redis) databases
• Hands-on experience with telephony apps (e.g., Twilio) is a plus
• Experience with scalability and performance management of large-scale systems
• Proficiency with modern tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira, and continuous integration (CI) pipelines
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead and mentor other engineers

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the CTO and engineering team to design and architect new features and products
• Develop and maintain our back-end dispatch applications using Ruby on Rails
• Improve and scale our real-time, location-based systems and machine learning dispatch systems
• Work across the stack, including building and integrating APIs, improving scalability, and ensuring performance
• Write clean, maintainable code, and review and enforce best practices in system design and coding standards
