Summary
Join Ubiminds, a GPTW-certified company, as a Senior Fullstack Software Developer and contribute to building an exciting new product suite for home services. Collaborate with a design team, develop and maintain client software primarily using PHP (Laravel) and TypeScript (React/React Native). You will build reliable, scalable code for mobile and web applications, work closely with product management and design, and implement SEO best practices. This role involves daily software releases through continuous integration and continuous delivery, and mentoring junior developers. The ideal candidate possesses advanced English skills, proficiency in specified technologies, and a strong understanding of web development principles and computer science fundamentals.
Requirements
- Possess advanced/fluent English skills – Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Be comfortable working 9-5 CST - we have a fair amount of flexibility for people to get their work done whenever works for them, but our core hours are Central Standard Time
- Possess proficiency in PHP Laravel, React/React Native, with a solid understanding of web development principles and best practices
- Have experience with SEO best pratices
- Have a fair amount of experience working on client-side web software with modern libraries and frameworks (React/React Native). You should understand how HTTP works, why Test Driven Development (TDD) is critical while writing code, what an XSS attack is, and how an MVC web framework works. That will probably mean you've been doing this stuff for 5+ years
- Be familiarized with CSS architecture including pre/post processors and CSS-in-JS, and best practices around responsive layout, accessibility, and animation. You should have experience working with design systems and designers or within a product design organization
- Understand fundamental computer science concepts. That doesn't necessarily mean you have a CS degree. But you should be able to describe how a pointer works, what Big O notation is and how to use it, when to use composition and when to use inheritance and the differences between an array and a linked list and a set
- Have a firm grasp of SQL and databases in general (including non-relational databases and modern cloud database solutions). You should know how to do CRUD operations, what indexes are and why they matter, and the difference between a left join and an inner join for instance
Responsibilities
- As a Senior Fullstack Software Developer, you are passionate about building quality software products
- Build reliable, observable, resilient, and scalable code that powers our suite of mobile and web applications supporting our providers, customers, and internal stakeholders
- Be in a hands-on role building rich experiences, helping make design system come to life in code, use your knowledge to bridge the gaps between designers and engineer and making sure the code you write scales responsively from mobile devices to desktop browsers and users love to use
- Work closely with our Product Management, Product Design across all engineering specialties to help decide which features to build and how to build them efficiently. We want to hear your ideas, not just tell you what to do
- Release new software every day. We practice continuous integration and continuous delivery so you'll get your first change into production in the first few days. From there you'll be making changes that will save millions of hours to people so they can do what really matters in life
- Take pride in your work and will be excited to inspire and mentor junior developers as they ramp up their knowledge and experience alongside you
- Implement SEO best practices to improve site visibility and ranking, including optimizing site structure, meta tags and heading tags
Preferred Qualifications
- Have familiarity with SEO, Page Speed, Type of Funnel, User Generated Content
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
