Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related field
  • Proven experience (7+ years) designing and developing elearning content, preferably in a corporate or educational setting
  • Proficiency with elearning authoring tools such as Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms
  • Strong understanding of instructional design principles, learning theories, and adult learning principles
  • Experience working with subject matter experts and translating technical content into engaging elearning materials
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and concisely
  • Creative mindset with a keen eye for visual design and user experience
  • Strong small team leadership and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Portfolio showcasing examples of elearning projects and design work

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather content and learning objectives
  • Design and develop interactive elearning modules, courses, and assessments using industry-standard creation and authoring tools (e.g., Camtasia, Articulate Suite, Adobe Captivate, etc.)
  • Apply instructional design theories, models, and best practices to create effective and engaging learning experiences
  • Ensure that elearning content is accessible, user-friendly, and optimized for different devices and platforms
  • Ensure content is delivered effectively using LMS tools, and that usage, assessment, and efficacy data is transparent and accessible to key stakeholders
  • Incorporate multimedia elements such as graphics, animations, audio, and video to enhance learning effectiveness
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews to ensure accuracy, functionality, and alignment with learning objectives
  • Collaborate with departmental leadership to help determine initiative and project scopes and timelines, and ensure project progress is tracked and transparent
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in elearning and instructional design

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SCORM, xAPI and other elearning standards is a plus
  • Experience working in the software training space and understanding of the software development lifecycle

  • Compensation for this position includes a base salary, variable bonus, equity, and a variety of benefits. The U.S. base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000 USD and the Canadian base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $135,000 CAD
