Summary

Job Description: A Senior IT Security Specialist is sought by Hostaway, a SaaS startup in the vacation rental industry, for a fully remote role. The candidate will be responsible for securing digital assets, implementing robust security measures, and responding to incidents. Requirements include 3-5 years of experience in IT Security, fluency in English, and experience in a tech start-up or scale up environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT Security, within a tech start-up or scale up
• Experience implementing and managing device and end-point security systems and processes
• Proven experience in identifying, assessing, and mitigating security threats within a fully cloud-based business environment (i.e. we’re a SaaS business)
• Experience coordinating penetration testing and collaborating with Engineering on remediation
• Experience remotely supporting a distributed workforce
• Strong customer centric mindset
• Fluent in English (Writing/Speaking)

Responsibilities

• Protect digital assets, ensure security of systems, networks, and data
• Identify potential vulnerabilities, implement robust security measures, respond to security incidents
• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive security policies, protocols, and procedures
• Handle and oversee device and end-point security
• Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate potential risks
• Lead the investigation and response to security incidents, working with stakeholders across the company to ensure issues are resolved while minimizing impact
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for data protection and privacy
• Educate employees on security best practices and conduct regular training sessions to promote awareness
• Generate detailed reports on the security status of the organization, including incident reports and risk analysis
