Summary

The Principal Network Architect is responsible for providing strategic and technical leadership, designing, overseeing, and guiding network infrastructure and security for multiple clients. They will develop plans for service strategy, design, transition, operations, and continual improvement. The architect will also be responsible for researching, planning, designing, testing, and implementing enterprise and agency-specific Wide Area Network, Metro Area Network, Local Area Network, and Wireless Enterprise Network infrastructures.

Requirements

  • 5 Years Experience as a lead architect for design of the network architecture and security for on-premises network infrastructures and cloud connecting network architectures
  • 5 Years Experience developing and administering all enterprise-wide network infrastructure standards and operational policies
  • 5 Years Experience with ownership of overseeing, improving, and upgrading all enterprise network hardware and software

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and technical leadership for client network infrastructure and security
  • Develop service strategy, design, transition, operations, and continual improvement plans
  • Design and implement enterprise and agency-specific WAN, MAN, LAN, and wireless network infrastructures
  • Lead architect for design of the network architecture and security for on-premises network infrastructures and cloud connecting network architectures
  • Review business requirements to develop technical network solutions, operational standards, and deployment guides
  • Brief the Senior Director on security product or procedure recommendations
  • Coordinate with the Senior Director on project initiation, prioritization, and completion
  • Develop technology functional requirement documents, test plans, specification documents, implementation plans, and project plans
  • Develop and administer all enterprise-wide network infrastructure standards and operational policies
  • Oversee improvements and upgrades to all enterprise network hardware and software
  • Manage technology vendors and stay informed about technology advancements
  • Ensure network infrastructure operational capacity is in place ahead of future business needs
