Senior IT Systems Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Senior IT Systems Engineer at Hippo Insurance's Polish branch. The role involves collaborating with the IT Operations team to build and maintain cloud-first infrastructure, automate workflows, implement API integrations, manage MDM environment, engineer scalable solutions, support security standards, act as a key stakeholder in cross-functional projects, translate project requirements into actionable objectives, and provide mentorship.

Requirements

• Have at least 4 years of experience in an IT Systems Engineer/Administrator or similar role
• Bring with you 2+ years of experience in project leadership or management
• Understand and/or are familiar with working with APIs for system integrations or automation projects
• Have intermediate-to-advanced scripting experience using PowerShell (preferred), Python, or Bash
• Demonstrate proficiency in cloud infrastructure tooling, including but not limited to AWS (preferred), Azure, or Terraform
• Have participated in cross-functional projects, actively contributing to company initiatives across various domains such as user experience, security, infrastructure, and others
• Have a good command of English (both written & spoken) - you'll work with the US team on a daily basis
• Are available in the afternoons - due to collaboration with the United States, evening meetings may occur

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the IT Operations team and other key business stakeholders to build and maintain a cloud-first infrastructure
• Create scalable automated workflows that tie our systems together
• Implement API integrations to connect decentralized systems together, enhancing business efficiency and reducing costs
• Architect scalable solutions for systems access, leveraging a growth mindset
• Manage and enhance Hippo’s MDM environment for macOS and Windows
• Engineer scalable solutions to reduce technical debt
• Support the enforcement of security standards (antivirus/firewall/patching/two-factor authentication)
• Act as a key stakeholder in cross-functional projects, highlighting and championing company impact including user experience, security, infrastructure, and others
• Translate project requirements into actionable objectives
