Senior Automation And Integration Engineer

Summary

Join Hippo Insurance's Polish branch as a Senior Automation Engineer and contribute to building and maintaining a cloud-first infrastructure. Collaborate with the IT Operations team and stakeholders to create scalable automated workflows. You will build automation using PowerShell and Python, implement API integrations, architect scalable solutions, manage Hippo’s MDM environment, and support security standards. This role requires strong scripting and IT infrastructure skills, along with excellent customer service and mentorship abilities. Requirements

• Have at least 4 years of experience in a Systems Engineer/Automation Engineer or similar role
• Bring with you 2+ years of experience in project work
• Understand and/or are familiar with working with APIs for system integrations or automation projects
• Have proven scripting experience using Powershell to automate workflows across various projects and technologies
• Are familiar with code deployment using Git, Azure DevOps, or similar tools
• Have participated in cross-functional projects, actively contributing to company initiatives across various domains such as user experience, security, infrastructure, and others
• Have a good command of English (both written & spoken) - you'll work with the US team on a daily basis
• Are available in the afternoons - due to collaboration with the United States, evening meetings may occur. Rest assured, we prioritize work-life fit, respect everyone's private lives, and don’t work at night but we still must ensure that communication between the time zones is effective

Responsibilities

• Build automation for IT Operations workflows using programming languages such as PowerShell and Python
• Implement API integrations to connect decentralized systems together, enhancing business efficiency and reducing costs
• Architect scalable solutions for systems access, leveraging a growth mindset
• Manage and enhance Hippo’s MDM environment for macOS and Windows
• Engineer scalable solutions to reduce technical debt
• Support the enforcement of security standards (antivirus/firewall/patching/two-factor authentication)
• Act as a key stakeholder in cross-functional projects, highlighting and championing company impact including user experience, security, infrastructure, and others
• Translate project requirements into actionable objectives

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience building systems that meet compliance requirements from any of the following regulations: ISO 27001, PCI, SOC2, SOX
• An understanding of RBAC concepts with infrastructure, IdP systems access, and beyond
• Experience configuring/managing modern MDM systems such as Jamf, Workspace ONE, Intune, etc
• A deep understanding of engineering ticket management, tracking metrics and trends, and defining/enforcing best practices (I.e., Sprint planning & management)
