Join Agile Legal as a Senior Litigation Paralegal (Remote Independent Contractor) and contribute to our fast-growing company providing legal support. This remote position demands exceptional time management and responsiveness. You will report to the Litigation Director and collaborate with various team members. Daily tasks involve performing paralegal tasks across different jurisdictions, conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, managing case files, assisting with case management, providing administrative support, and ensuring ethical standards are met. The ideal candidate possesses at least five years of litigation paralegal experience, including family law or T&E, and proficiency in legal software. Success requires excellent communication, e-filing expertise, and strong organizational skills.
Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years of experience as a litigation paralegal
- Experience in family law or T&E
- Proficiency in legal software platforms, research tools, and databases, such as Casetext, LexisNexis, or Westlaw
- You have a good understanding of e-filing with Pacer/ECF and various state courts
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to proactively interact professionally with clients and colleagues
- You are proficient in completing virtual tasks, including word processing, spreadsheets, and cloud storage systems like OneDrive or Dropbox
- You are self-motivated and self-disciplined to schedule time to complete tasks within the deadlines
- You have personal integrity and take ownership of your work
- You possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- You are proficient in time management and can meet deadlines under pressure
- You maintain flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced, remote environment
- You can work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members
- You welcome constructive feedback and correction
Responsibilities
- Performing paralegal tasks in different states and federal jurisdictions
- Conducting legal research and analysis to support litigation proceedings or adjust to unfamiliar courts and jurisdictions
- Drafting, preparing, and e-filing legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and subpoenas
- Organizing and maintaining case files and documents, ensuring all materials are up-to-date and easily accessible
- Assisting with case management tasks such as scheduling, calendaring deadlines, and coordinating with external parties
- Providing administrative support to attorneys, including proofreading documents, organizing meetings, and managing correspondence
- Professionally and effectively communicating with management, clients, and other team members promptly
- Preparing Table of Contents/Table of Authorities for court briefs (TOC/TOA)
- Preparing various types of attorney work products, including deposition summaries
- Adhering to privilege, confidentiality, and ethical standards in all aspects of work
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a remote or on-demand capacity is strongly preferred
