Join Encora's Workforce Engineering Team as a Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer and play a critical role in designing, implementing, and supporting scalable Microsoft 365 environments. You will focus on Exchange Online, Security & Compliance, and collaboration tools like Teams and OneDrive. Your expertise will guide migrations, drive transformation initiatives, and support a secure cloud-first experience. This full-time, remote position requires 5-8 years of IT infrastructure experience with a strong focus on Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365. You will lead email migration projects and manage Microsoft 365 tenant settings. The role also involves developing governance policies, implementing security measures, and providing Tier 3 support.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
- 5–8 years in IT infrastructure with a strong focus on Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft 365
- Proven expertise in managing Exchange Online and hybrid environments
- Experience leading migration projects from on-premises or third-party systems to Microsoft 365
- Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Center, Entra Connect, and Intune
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online administration
- Solid knowledge of email security standards including SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
- Experience with Microsoft Defender for Office 365
Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure and scalable Microsoft 365 solutions, particularly in Exchange Online, Teams, and OneDrive
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for Exchange Online, including hybrid environments, mail flow, and compliance settings
- Lead email migration projects from on-premises Exchange or third-party platforms to Exchange Online
- Configure and manage Microsoft 365 tenant settings: licensing, policies, security configurations, and feature rollouts
- Develop and maintain governance and retention policies in accordance with compliance requirements
- Implement and manage Conditional Access Policies for Microsoft 365
- Monitor system performance and conduct root cause analysis to resolve issues
- Create and manage automation scripts using PowerShell for administration and reporting
- Stay current on Microsoft 365 product changes and provide recommendations for best practices
- Collaborate across Security, Networking, and Desktop teams to ensure a secure, user-centric M365 experience
- Provide Tier 3 support and mentor junior engineers or technical support teams
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with SendGrid SMTP services
