Summary

Join Greenhouse as a Senior Manager, Compensation and lead the Total Rewards team in developing and implementing competitive pay structures. You will manage a team of compensation professionals, collaborate with various departments, and ensure alignment with company objectives. Responsibilities include designing and administering salary frameworks, incentive plans, and equity programs. You will conduct global benchmarking, manage annual compensation cycles, and provide market-aligned recommendations for budgets. Furthermore, you will oversee equity grant processes, stay informed on compensation trends, and communicate effectively with executive leaders. This role requires extensive experience in compensation, incentive, and equity plan design and administration, as well as strong analytical and communication skills.

Requirements

  • Progressive experience in broad-based compensation, incentive and equity plan design and administration, or total rewards in high-growth environments
  • Proven experience mentoring or managing compensation teams
  • Strong knowledge of compensation theory, market benchmarking, job leveling, and regulatory compliance (including pay equity laws)
  • Extensive, hands-on experience designing and administering incentive and sales compensation plans
  • Proven track record managing equity programs, ideally in a public or late-stage private company
  • Experience using compensation data and platforms (Workday, Radford, Mercer, Carta, etc.) to drive insights and recommendations
  • Exceptional project management and analytical skills; able to run large-scale processes independently
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present data and strategy to executive audiences and influence decision-making
  • Commitment to advancing equity, inclusion, and a positive employee experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing improvement of salary frameworks, sales incentives, bonus plans, and equity programs, ensuring alignment with company objectives
  • Drive global benchmarking to maintain competitive and consistent compensation programs
  • Strategically plan and execute annual merit, bonus, and equity refresh cycles, collaborating with HRBPs, Finance, Legal, and executive leadership
  • Own and deliver market-aligned recommendations for compensation program budgets
  • Oversee grant processes, vesting, compliance, and employee education for all equity programs
  • Stay informed on external compensation trends, participate in surveys, and ensure all programs adhere to regulatory requirements
  • Clearly communicate complex compensation data and recommendations to executive leaders and the Compensation Committee, advising on decision impact
  • Foster a culture of transparency by educating managers and employees on compensation and equity, and mentor a team of compensation professionals

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in high-growth, tech or SaaS environments, strongly preferred
