This Benefits and Wellbeing Manager role involves designing, managing, and communicating comprehensive benefits and wellbeing programs, ensuring employee health, financial security, and engagement. You will be the primary point of contact for leave of absence and accommodation requests, guaranteeing a compliant and supportive experience. Strategic vendor partnerships, data management, and policy alignment are crucial to meeting both employee needs and organizational goals. The position requires managing various benefits programs, overseeing leave administration, and ensuring compliance with regulations. This role also involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to optimize benefits and leave programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in benefits and leave of absence program administration
- Experience supporting a multi-state workforce
- In-depth knowledge of health and welfare benefits, including associated processes, procedures, and regulations
- Solid understanding of federal and state leave laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA)
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to deliver insights and drive program improvements
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and advance critical initiatives
- Strong team collaboration skills, especially within Total Rewards and cross-functional departments
- Experience with HRIS implementation (Workday preferred)
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, Docs)
Responsibilities
- Manage and administer benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), and wellness initiatives
- Manage and oversee the administration of group welfare and retirement plans
- Manage the full cycle of benefits renewals (annual enrollment), including system configuration, eligibility, communications, vendor coordination, benefit fairs, and enrollment accuracy
- Execute the communication strategy for all total rewards programs to keep Evolver’s educated and engaged
- Partner with the Director of People to develop and manage the benefits budget to ensure fiscal responsibility and optimal resource use
- Partner with insurance brokers and vendors to evaluate benefit offerings, recommend platforms, and negotiate contracts
- Evaluate vendor performance to ensure quality service and cost-effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including ACA reporting, 5500 filings, non-discrimination testing, COBRA, and annual 401(k) audits
- Manage internal and external audit activities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of notices, forms, and filings
- Work with payroll to ensure accurate processing of benefit-related deductions and imputed income
- Conduct regular benefit audits and reconciliations; ensure proper processing of all benefit invoices
- Partner with People Business Partners and leaders to align benefits with evolving business needs and total rewards strategy
- Support benefits-related investigations, appeals, and policy development to mitigate compliance risks
- Manage escalations between benefits and leave of absence vendors and employees
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and legislative changes in the benefits landscape
- Prepare census data for payroll, insurance carriers, and internal reporting
- Partner with Employee Resource Groups on relevant wellbeing initiatives
- Serve as the primary contact for Evolver’s navigating leave and accommodation requests, providing personalized guidance and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (FMLA, ADA, PWFA, etc.)
- Collaborate with People Business Partners and People Leaders to review accommodation requests under ADA and similar laws
- Act as a liaison between employees, People leaders, and third-party providers to facilitate a seamless experience for leave and accommodations
- Educate employees on leave policies, eligibility, documentation requirements, and return-to-work procedures
- Manage inquiries related to leave and accommodations, delivering clear, timely, and accurate communication
- Collaborate with the HRIS team to configure and implement leave and time-off policies in Workday, ensuring alignment with federal and state regulations
- Work with payroll and vendors to support leave tracking, wage replacement, and solve pay discrepancies
- Maintain and update leave-related documentation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across all communications
- Partner with external providers to assess and manage claims effectively, identify potential issues, and implement resolutions for streamlined employee experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications preferred: CEBS®, PHR, SHRM-CP, or CCP
- Preferred: experience partnering with third-party leave administrators or vendors

- For this role our salary range is 155,000 - 180,000, depending on relevant experience
- This role will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on both company and individual performance
