Requirements
- 7+ years professional experience as an engineer, technical lead, or manager (previous management role not required)
- Previous experience with technical concepts such as database architectures (relational and nosql), containerization and orchestration, and a solid understanding of software development in multiple programming languages (Go, Node, Python preferred)
- Technical experience working with cloud-native services in at least one of the top cloud providers - GCP (preferred), AWS, Azure
- Familiarity or aptitude for using data to understand processes and drive continuous improvement
- Excellent active listening, negotiation, and conflict management skills across communication styles and levels and on remote/hybrid teams
- Ability to empower and inspire a diverse set of engineers to a common goal and appreciate individuals for their unique contributions
Responsibilities
- Guide multiple teams to work together on large scale projects and deliver on business goals with timely, iterative execution
- Build understanding of how the work of teams and individuals ties to company strategy and goals
- Collaborate with PM, UX, and Quality teams to align and contribute to the product strategy, set expectations on delivery, and engage in healthy dialogue around trade offs and concerns
- Cultivate a culture around structured software development, innovation, quality, and measurable continuous improvement
- Contribute to activities related to budget management and resource planning, and make technical decisions in support of the product and technical roadmaps
- Continuously provide coaching, feedback, and career growth to engineers
