Summary
Join Care Access as the Director, Budgets, a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and managing global budgets for a portfolio of studies. You will create accurate and competitive budgets, ensuring alignment with contractual terms and business goals. This key role involves overseeing the creation of country-specific rate cards, establishing budget development strategies, and providing expertise for contract wins and execution. You will lead a team, mentor professionals, and collaborate with various departments to ensure financial soundness and strategic advantage. The position is remote with minimal travel.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of budgeting principles, financial modelling, and contract negotiation
- Strong analytical skills to create competitive and accurate budgets for complex studies
- Ability to manage and develop scalable processes for budget and CTA creation
- Proficiency in financial and contract management software and systems
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and cultures
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal abilities
- Adaptability to operate in a dynamic, global environment
- 10+ years of experience in budget management, financial strategy, and/or contract administration within a project-based or service-driven environment, preferably in a Site Network organization
- Proven expertise in creating budgets for studies and contracts in a global setting
- Experience with global rate card creation and management
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed, study-specific budgets tailored to the needs and requirements of contracts
- Collaborate with Business Development and project teams to ensure budgets are competitive and align with client expectations
- Maintain a repository of budget templates and tools for efficient and accurate budget creation
- Conduct benchmarking and market analysis to inform cost assumptions and improve budget competitiveness
- Create and maintain standardized rate cards for different countries, incorporating local market conditions, regulatory requirements, and cost structures
- Regularly review and update rate cards to reflect market trends, inflation, and organizational changes
- Ensure rate card consistency and compliance across all regions while maintaining flexibility for localized needs as well as internal service lines
- Build and implement a scalable strategy for the development of budgets that supports the organization’s business development goals
- Partner with business development teams to craft proposals and bids that are financially sound and strategically advantageous
- Establish processes and best practices for budget development, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
- Identify and mitigate risks related to financial planning and contractual obligations during the proposal stage
- Collaborate with legal and operational teams to address contractual risks and opportunities
- Manage a centralized system for tracking and managing contract lifecycles, ensuring timely renewals and compliance
- Lead and mentor a team of professionals responsible for budget creation, and financial analysis
- Collaborate with operational and business development teams to ensure alignment between budgets, CTAs, and organizational objectives
- Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, including clients and vendors, to support successful contract execution
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on budget and contract performance metrics
- Present complex budgetary and contractual information to internal and external stakeholders in a clear, concise manner
- Act as the organization’s subject matter expert on budget matters, providing guidance during contract negotiations and study planning
- Develop and deliver training programs to build budget expertise across the organization
