Summary
Join the Wikimedia Foundation's People Growth & Belonging (PG&B) team as a Senior Manager and lead a team integrating Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) and Learning & Development (L&D) principles. You will define and execute the PG&B strategy, aligning with Wikimedia's mission. Lead, mentor, and develop the PGB team, fostering collaboration. Oversee the Engagement & Inclusion Survey and drive evidence-based DEI strategies. Support Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and champion inclusive leadership development. Oversee L&D programs and collaborate with HR to embed DEI and L&D principles across the organization. Develop methods to assess the impact of DEI and L&D initiatives. Act as a strategic advisor to the VP, People Growth & Belonging.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in DEI, Learning & Development, organisational development, or talent strategy
- Proven leadership in DEI strategy design and implementation, with a track record of influencing organisational culture
- Expertise in learning programme design, instructional methodologies, and leadership development
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, particularly in mission-driven, global organisations
- Experience coaching and managing multicultural teams
- Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on programme execution
- Familiarity with learning technology platforms and data-driven approaches to measuring impact
- Strong communication skills, with fluency in English and the ability to craft compelling narratives and build consensus
- Commitment to Wikimedia’s values and the free knowledge movement
- Ability and willingness to travel as needed
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the People Growth & Belonging strategy, aligning with Wikimedia’s mission and organisational priorities
- Lead, mentor, and develop part of the PGB team, fostering collaboration and professional growth
- Oversee the Engagement & Inclusion Survey, ensuring data informs people strategies
- Drive evidence-based DEI strategy and oversee key initiatives, including constructive dialogue spaces, racial equity commitments, and global inclusion efforts
- Support and advise Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to ensure alignment with organisational goals
- Champion inclusive leadership development, equipping managers with tools to foster anti-discrimination and equity in decision-making
- Oversee some L&D programmes, ensuring access to upskilling and career development opportunities
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners, Internal Communications, Recruiting, and People Ops to embed DEI and L&D principles into talent acquisition, management, onboarding, and engagement strategies
- Develop methods to assess impact for DEI and L&D initiatives to ensure continuous improvement
- Act as a strategic advisor to the VP, People Growth & Belonging, contributing to organisational development
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the free knowledge / open source movement
- Experience working in an async and/or remote-first organisation
- Experience in tech and/or not-for-profit organisations
- Experience working across different sociopolitical and cultural contexts
