Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years leading an engineering team, with a focus on infrastructure and SRE
  • Experience managing and scaling on-prem infrastructure services
  • Proven track record of migrating services from on-prem to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform)
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure-as-code principles and experience with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and performance optimization in large-scale distributed systems
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to effectively motivate a team while influencing and driving change across teams and departments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of systems engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and support
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure initiatives with business goals and ensure seamless integration with application development
  • Drive continuous improvement in infrastructure processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and reliability in the existing on-prem environment
  • Oversee the development and implementation of monitoring, alerting, and incident response processes to ensure rapid detection and resolution of issues
  • Foster a culture of automation and self-healing systems to reduce manual intervention, improve operational efficiency, and prevent problem recurrence
  • Develop and maintain technical standards, best practices, and methodologies for systems engineering that align with modern, Cloud-native environments
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, making recommendations for adopting new tools and practices that enhance infrastructure capabilities
  • Ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements, implementing best practices for data protection and risk management
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand system needs, and provide technical recommendations
