Summary

Join Toast as a Senior Manager of Web Experience Design and lead a team of designers in creating compelling user experiences for our marketing web ecosystem. Partner with various stakeholders to execute the web roadmap, manage design efforts across marketing-owned web properties, and elevate the Toast brand through consistent design. You will also be deeply involved in hands-on design execution, leveraging data and user research to inform design decisions. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and design skills, along with experience in a fast-paced environment. Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant web design experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor designers in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills—able to present ideas and strategies to stakeholders and influence outcomes
  • A strong portfolio showcasing mastery of UI and UX principles spanning design systems and modular development, user research, information architecture, interaction design, accessibility, and more
  • Deep understanding of designing within real-world technical constraints, CMS workflows (experience with Contentful a plus), SEO considerations, and analytics frameworks
  • Ability to think strategically about the full user journey and the role of web experience within the broader marketing and brand ecosystem
  • Track record of delivering high-quality, scalable design solutions that balance brand, user experience, and business goals
  • Strong conceptual thinking paired with exceptional design craft
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to balance creative vision with business needs

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with Web Strategy and Web Engineering leads to shape and execute the web roadmap, driving business impact through compelling user experiences
  • Lead design efforts across all marketing-owned web properties—including core web pages, campaign experiences, digital tools, and content hubs
  • Elevate and influence the Toast brand through thoughtful application and evolution of brand systems, ensuring design quality and consistency across web experiences
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of designers, fostering a culture rooted in creativity, continuous learning, and design excellence
  • Stay deeply involved in hands-on design execution (~50% time) to model craft, quality, and attention to detail
  • Leverage data, user research, SEO insights, and industry best practices to inform design decisions and advocate for innovative, user-centered solutions. Continuously analyze performance, iterate on experiences, and take calculated risks to drive engagement and conversion
  • Develop scalable design solutions, tools, and processes that improve team efficiency and impact
  • Clearly communicate design concepts and decisions to stakeholders, influencing strategy and direction at multiple levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Are proactive, self-motivated, and take initiative without needing direction
  • Bring creativity and curiosity to challenge the status quo of B2B marketing design
  • Excel in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Have experience designing for SaaS platforms and/or B2B audiences
  • Have worked on multi-language and multi-geo web properties and understand the nuances of localization
