Senior Operations Engineer

Summary

Join Holycode as a Senior Operations Engineer and become a crucial part of the LzLabs project team. You will design, implement, and deliver operational services for customers using LzLabs' Software Defined Mainframe Linux environment. Requirements

• Proven experience as an operation engineer in operating Linux environments
• Comprehensive knowledge of Linux and cloud technologies
• Over 4 years of experience or running Linux servers productively
• A higher education degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
• Fluency in English, with good verbal and written communication skills
• Availability for working evening hours or at weekends when required by the customer

Responsibilities

• Handle incidents resolving issues within our defined OLA’s
• Initiate problem analysis on recurring incidents aiming to resolve root causes of recurring incidents
• Conduct system upgrades during provided and scheduled service windows. These upgrades follow a rigid staging concept. The aim is to keep the customer environment constantly on the highest available software level
• Create scripts automating recurring tasks
• Evaluate and suggest improvements on change management, config change management, monitoring, improving the service experience for the customer
• Ensure all activities are properly tracked, accounted and reportable
• Proactively sharing experience and insights with the engineering team, the cloud solution team, the product management team, the support team and the development team

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic Bash/Python skills
• ITIL v3 or higher knowledge, including certification
• German is advantageous
• Certifications such as ITIL, LFCS, or similar
• A commitment to continuous learning, staying abreast of the latest Linux and cloud advancements, distributed technologies, and industry developments
• Highly reliable and trustworthy in completing tasks fully with unquestionable quality
• Motivated to complete tasks and overcome obstacles
• Analytical skills, capable of examining client’s operation requirements, designing reliable operation solutions aiming at automating as much as required to provide service with a high degree of efficiency and quality
