Summary

Join NBCUniversal as a Senior Post Workflow Automation Architect and lead the design of automated solutions for our post-production platform. Collaborate with production and engineering clients to gather requirements, translating them into development projects. Leverage your deep understanding of software and hardware infrastructure to architect new solutions and guide the development team. You will also work with third-party vendors, assist with QA, document new features, and maintain our internal GitHub repository. Requirements

  • 6+ years experience in DevOps engineering
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience with working with clients to gather project requirements
  • Ability to translate client speak and engineering speak in both directions
  • Experience with understanding third-party and internal REST APIs
  • Familiarity with IT infrastructure as it pertains to automating file/asset movement
  • Experience with creating solutions in Windows and Linux
  • Experience with code management in Github
  • Extensive experience with the software build process
  • Experience working in agile/scrum environment
  • Experience in the Media and Entertainment space, including but not limited to film and broadcast
  • Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of automated solutions for NBCU Post Production
  • Along with the Workflow Engineering team, work with clients to gather requirements for their automation needs
  • Understand full end-to-end infrastructure (software and hardware) to drive these solutions
  • Direct clients to existing solutions as appropriate
  • Architect new solutions from a software and infrastructure perspective
  • Open tickets with development team – providing the guidance needed to meet the client requirements
  • Work with L3 team to create and enhance necessary non-software infrastructure as needed
  • Work with third party vendors regarding their automation methodologies (API’s)
  • Assist with QA of development projects
  • Document new features as they are released
  • Collaborate with support teams as needed
  • With the Automation Engineering team, help maintain internal GitHub repository
  • Provide internal L3 support for issues as necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with post-production tools, such as Avid and Adobe
  • Experience with asset management systems (Production Asset Management and Media Asset Management)
  • Experience with media-based automation tools, such as Telestream Vantage
  • Knowledge of cloud automation tools, using both Microsoft Azure and AWS
  • Experience with programming languages (such JavaScript, Python, C#) and related frameworks (such as NodeJS)
  • Proficient in scripting and automation using tools like PowerShell
  • Strong interpersonal skills and adept at building relationships with all technical and operational areas across NBCU
