Requirements
- 5+ Years of product and interaction design experience with a portfolio of delivering impactful, user-centered solutions, strong focus on mobile applications, ideally in an enterprise SaaS environment
- Proficiency in designing for both iOS and Android platforms with their respective guidelines (iOS - human interface and Android - material)
- Familiarity with cohesive design systems that ensures consistency across the platform
- Strong team collaboration skills including active listening, continuous learning, and driving & delivering results
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present confidently to any audience
- Ability to lead user research, usability testing, and alignment conversations
- Experience with market research and validation tools/techniques
- A strategic, analytical thinker that breaks down larger, complex problems into smaller, actionable user focused solutions
- Continuous learner who is dedicated to solving problems from a place of deep customer empathy
- Self motivated, results oriented, and can execute effectively with a strong sense of ownership, acting with urgency, and accountability
- Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Able to bring clarity in ambiguous environments
- Proficient with agile development methodologies and tools (i.e. Jira, Confluence, Notion); design/prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, etc.)
Responsibilities
- Create intuitive, visually appealing, and mobile efficient end-to-end user flows, wireframes, information architecture, and prototypes ensuring every touchpoint between government staff and citizens are seamless and delightful
- Develop a cohesive design system that ensures consistency across newly developed experiences
- Ensure the appβs design meets accessibility standards
- Research and stay up-to-date on advancements in design patterns
- Conduct discovery to understand the needs and paint points citizens and government staff alike
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs through empathy and insights, ensuring our products deliver significant value and delight users
- Contribute and evaluate new concepts for future roadmaps performing discovery, experimentation, and validation to bring impactful new capabilities and enhancements to market
- Collaborate with Product team to translate user insights into requirements
- Validate the solutions we ideate will deliver value and be user friendly mitigating delivery risk
- Analyze market landscape and enabling technology (e.g. AI/LLMs) to identify opportunities for innovation
- Balance delivering a design strategy with tactical execution to deliver solutions that provide immediate customer value and are aligned towards achieving a long term vision
- Partner with engineering, product, design, marketing, CX, and sales teams to foster a collaborative environment that promotes innovative solutions through iteration
- Present designs/prototypes, progress, rationale to both technical and non-technical audiences including senior management and other key stakeholders
- Help define and champion UX processes to streamline efficiency and collaboration
- Define and drive key metrics to measure success and identify actionable areas for improvement, creating a data-driven framework for informed decision-making
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing government or enterprise single page web application experiences
- Experience navigating stakeholder management in a remote environment is a plus
- Understanding of GIS and mapping technologies in mobile applications
- Familiarity and thrive in an empowered product team environment
