Summary
Join Instructure's collaborative design team as a Senior Product Designer. You will play a key role in shaping the user experience across Instructure's product portfolio, working closely with product managers and developers. Responsibilities include designing workflows, advocating for accessibility best practices, conducting user research, building prototypes, and contributing to a design system. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience designing large-scale digital products, a strong portfolio showcasing visual and UX design skills, and excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience designing for large scale digital products
- A portfolio representing your strong design work (visual and UX) on complex digital products
- Self-motivated with a passion for design
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong storytelling and communication skills, verbal and written
- Strong work ethic, sense of accountability and ownership
- Strong attention to detail and a systematic thinker
- Highly self-motivated, with experience leveraging Design Systems
- Great team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment
- The ability to iterate rapidly
Responsibilities
- Play an influential role in designing workflows for educators, students, and people that support teaching and learning
- Partner closely with product managers and developers to solve complex problems and ensure the highest quality solutions
- Be an advocate for A11y best practices
- Work with a rapid, iterative mindset, being open and flexible to changes based on user feedback
- Initiate and lead research activities with our customers and users
- Measure the success of products after release
- Build prototypes for user testing
- Use and contribute to a design system to create products with consistent interactions and a shared visual language
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to ensure the highest quality designs and functionality
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity of user expectations and usage for mobile
- Prototyping experience (such as inVision, Figma)
- Experience with designing mobile first and responsive web design
