Summary

Join AffiniPay, a leading fintech company in Austin, Texas, as a Senior Product Designer. You will play a crucial role in shaping user-centered product experiences that drive innovation and impact. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems and develop scalable design solutions aligned with user needs and business objectives. You will lead workshops, design sprints, and discussions to facilitate cross-functional alignment and prioritize opportunities. This role requires a strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end design processes, advanced user research and testing experience, and technical expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and front-end development frameworks. You will also be responsible for prototyping and testing, inspiring and influencing stakeholders, and providing mentorship to junior designers.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience : A bachelor's or master's degree in a related field such as HCI, computer science, graphic design, or a related field, and/or equivalent of at least  5+ years of experience in UX design
  • Expert Design Skills : Strong portfolio showcasing end-to-end design processes, including complex flows, detailed UI specifications, and successful cross-team collaboration. The portfolio should also include case studies that demonstrate the candidate's strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced User Research and Testing : The candidate should have extensive experience conducting advanced user research and testing. They should be able to create detailed user personas, conduct usability testing, and use data to inform design decisions. They should also be able to design and conduct A/B testing and other advanced research methodologies
  • Technical Expertise : The candidate should have a deep understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as extensive experience with front-end development frameworks such as React or Angular
  • Collaboration and Leadership : The candidate should be an excellent communicator and able to collaborate effectively with other designers, developers, and stakeholders
  • Strategic Thinking : The candidate should be able to think strategically about user needs and design solutions that meet those needs. They should be able to align UX design strategies with business goals and objectives and be able to make data-driven design decisions
  • Expert Knowledge of Design Tools : The candidate should have extensive experience using design tools such as Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or similar tools. They should be able to provide guidance to junior designers on how to use these tools effectively and should also be able to customize and optimize design workflows
  • Expert Understanding of Design Systems : The candidate should have an expert understanding of design systems and how they can be used to create consistent and scalable designs. They should be able to design and implement design systems for large-scale projects and organizations

Responsibilities

  • Drive Impactful Design Deliver frameworks, principles, and designs across a wide range of projects to accelerate initiatives and align stakeholders across teams and business units
  • Define and measure the success of designs in terms of business impact and usability, using data and metrics to drive iteration
  • Collaborate Across Teams Partner with 1-2 development teams, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver cohesive user experiences that meet expected outcomes in a timely manner
  • Facilitate cross-functional alignment by leading workshops, design sprints, and discussions to resolve conflicts and prioritize opportunities
  • Innovate with Scale Work on scalable platform solutions, leveraging and contributing to design systems and incorporating innovative technologies
  • Collaborate with the UX Director to promote adoption and alignment across teams
  • Incorporate accessibility standards into design solutions to ensure an inclusive user experience
  • Prototype and Test Conduct user research independently and collaborate with researchers to gather insights that inform design decisions
  • Develop and refine prototypes for evaluative research and ideal-state experiences, driving iterative improvement
  • Inspire and Influence Use storytelling, facilitation, and visualization to inspire alignment and achieve shared objectives
  • Provide informal mentorship to junior designers, offering guidance during design critiques and collaborative sessions

Benefits

  • The annual salary range for this position is $135,000 to $140,000
  • The salary range for performing this role outside of the US / Austin / California may differ
