Senior Product Designer

Summary

Join Smartcat's Product Design team as a key strategic partner, driving the future of user experience for a platform reshaping global content creation, localization, and delivery. Partner with Product Managers and Engineers, conduct user research, create designs, build a design system, and deliver high-quality designs for web and mobile. Iterate rapidly based on user feedback, explore new AI tools, and continuously evolve design practices. This is a fully remote role within a dynamic, Series C company experiencing 130% YoY growth. You'll contribute to a $100B+ industry and help shape a category-defining product alongside a globally distributed team.

Requirements

• Proven Product Designer with a portfolio that sets the industry standard
• Expert-level skills in Figma
• Strong advocate for user-centered design and deep understanding of usability principles
• Ability to clearly communicate design decisions to both designers and non-designers
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Partner deeply with Product Managers and Engineers as a key member of an empowered product team — from problem discovery to solution delivery — contributing to strategy, shaping outcomes, and ensuring exceptional user experience
• Conduct in-depth user research, run usability tests, and gather feedback to inform and validate design decisions
• Create wireframes, low-fidelity drafts, and interactive prototypes that bring design concepts to life
• Build and maintain a design system and style guide to ensure consistency and a seamless experience across the platform
• Deliver high-quality, pixel-perfect designs for web and mobile that engage and delight users
• Iterate rapidly based on user insights, feedback, and changing project needs
• Proactively explore and apply new tools and technologies — including AI — to improve design quality, speed, and user understanding
• Continuously evolve our design practices and bring fresh, creative approaches to problem-solving
• Understand our product, customers, and business goals
• Get up to speed on our design system, tools, and processes
• Partner with your PM and Engineering leads to align on current priorities and areas of focus
• Lead user research and validation activities for your area
• Start delivering design artifacts for upcoming product initiatives
• Proactively suggest improvements to design process or tools
• Own design execution in your product area end-to-end
• Contribute to shaping product strategy with insights and design perspective
• Introduce or pilot one new tool, method, or workflow that helps level up design quality or velocity

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with UI animation, HTML, CSS, and front-end development is a plus
• Experience using AI tools to accelerate design, prototyping, or research is a plus
• Curiosity and enthusiasm for experimenting with new tools and technologies, especially AI
