Senior Product Designer

Requirements

• 5+ years of product design experience in a consumer software company
• Have a portfolio of high-quality work that shows your experience designing elegant and visually engaging solutions to complex problems that directly solve user needs
• Take a structured, intentional approach to your work, leveraging frameworks and principles to articulate your design decisions
• Have experience collaborating with product managers, researchers, and content designers in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills with the ability to communicate and present ideas clearly
• Be a reliable self-starter who can steer their work with minimal oversight
• Love designing for the entire product process from strategy to pixel—and can demonstrate a range of skills from high-level flows to detailed interactions
• Be an exceptional product thinker who takes a deep interest in understanding business and customer needs

Responsibilities

• Work on projects ranging from quick data-driven interaction and content experiments on Wealthfront’s core products to strategic initiatives tackling deep human problems like helping people discuss finances more comfortably or understand what they need to confidently invest
• Drive significant positive impact for Wealthfront’s users and business
• Leverage qualitative research insights, product data, and business objectives to form hypotheses, and then figure out how to construct experiments that let us efficiently test and scale them
• Define problems, new opportunities and solutions
• Use data, insights, and behavioral psychology
• Understand and consult on our technology
• Connect everything you do to our clients and our business
• Actively collaborate with engineers, product managers, researchers, data scientists, legal, and compliance
• Model the role of design as an equal partner to Engineering and Product, develop these skills in your design teams, and contribute to the company-level design organization in partnership with the design leadership team

Preferred Qualifications

• Passion or past experience building consumer financial technology products
• Be deeply curious and interested in fintech
