Requirements
- Demonstrated expertise in product design, UX/UI design, or a similar area, evidenced by a portfolio that highlights projects which have enhanced a businesses operations, substantially reduced costs, or improved a productβs quality
- Deep knowledge of design fundamentals, human-computer interaction, and user experience best practices
- Exceptional skills in communication, collaboration, and project management, capable of leading and contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Aptitude for, and demonstrated ability in, rapidly learning new/deep product areas
- Skilled in using design and prototyping software like Figma
- Experienced in performing user research and usability testing to guide design choices
Responsibilities
- Understand the business needs, usability gaps, and UX opportunities across a wide range of tools and stakeholders; including product, front-end engineering, systems engineers, operations leads, legal, etc
- Work with UX managers and cross-functional stakeholders to develop quarterly plans and deliver against them; be accountable for UX impact
- Manage the entire design process from the initial concept through to execution, which includes brainstorming, prototyping, user testing, launch, and landing
- Deliver solutions that drive impact to Cruise, from facilitating design sprints, to developing service blueprints, to traditional interface designs and prototypes
- Partner with research teams to ensure product usability
- Partner with, and present to, diverse stakeholder groups; receive feedback from them; and refine the work as-needed
- Ensure engineering velocity by planning deliverables accordingly
Preferred Qualifications
- Background with human-in-the-loop tools
- Demonstrable experience improving operational efficiency in an organization through human centered design
- Experience designing developer tools, including AI/ML tools
