Summary

Join Palo Alto Networks' Professional Services team as a Consultant, providing on-site and remote deployment and configuration expertise for Palo Alto Networks solutions. You will serve as a product Subject Matter Expert, interacting directly with clients and their project teams. This highly technical, hands-on role requires expertise in Palo Alto Networks products and solutions, as well as a strong foundation in networking and security technologies. You will build and implement new architectures, migrate customers, create security policies, troubleshoot issues, and provide mentorship. Experience with competitor technologies is a plus, and training is provided through the Professional Services Academy. A Top Secret clearance is required or must be obtainable.

Requirements

  • Must have expertise in two or more of the following Palo Alto Networks solutions: Prisma Access, VM Series (AWS and/or Azure), Prisma Access Browser, Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW)
  • Strong skills in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) routing and TCP/IP networking
  • Experience with troubleshooting network connectivity issues and maintaining operational environments
  • Experience with classified transport networks and cloud providers, including AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience with IDS/IPS solutions and technologies
  • Strong understanding of VM/Public Cloud
  • Experience leading security solutions in large environments
  • Experience designing and implementing LANs and VLANs
  • Understanding of various security threats, internet protocols, and applications
  • Detailed technical experience in the installation, configuration, and operation of high-end firewall appliances, ideally our products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confirmed ability to communicate with senior leaders and technical peers
  • Project leadership experience; ability to drive organizations and resources to complete required tasks in service of end goals
  • Must have or be able to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Build and implement new architectures leveraging our security products and services
  • Migrate customers from legacy hardware onto Palo Alto Networks products
  • Create custom security policies and application signatures for unique client environments
  • Implement network segment controls in accordance with NIST and RMF frameworks
  • Troubleshoot integration issues, perform debug analysis, and mitigate threat events
  • Maintain the implemented solutions and provide mentorship on code upgrades, changes to the platform, and new technology developments
  • Validate and implement proof of concepts in lab environments
  • Provide the customer with support on technical implementation and strategy, communicated from engineering to C-suite executives
  • Work dedicatedly with our Technical Assistance Center to troubleshoot and diagnose cases as escalations arise

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with: Cloud Security Assessment and Broker (CSAB), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), PANOS SD-WAN, Internet of Things (IoT), Strata Cloud Manager (SCM), Automation and scripting for security deployments
