Summary

Join Palo Alto Networks as a Professional Services Consultant and become an integral part of our mission. You will provide on-site and remote deployment and configuration expertise for Palo Alto Networks solutions, acting as a product Subject Matter Expert. Interact directly with clients, providing leadership and technical direction. This hands-on role requires developing and maintaining expertise in our products and solutions. You will be the technical authority, helping customers secure their digital environments and training their staff. A solid foundation in networking and security technologies is crucial, and experience with competitor technologies is a plus. We provide training at our Professional Services Academy.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of relevant work experience in Network Engineering, Architecture, Security Engineering, technical consulting, or similar roles
  • Hands-on experience with core Palo Alto Networks PANOS features & services (e.g., SSL Decryption, User-ID, App-ID, CDL, Reporting, Log Forwarding, AIOps)
  • Hands-on experience in PKI & SSL, TCP/IP, BGP, and IPSec
  • Detailed technical experience in the installation, configuration, and operation of high-end firewall appliances, specifically Palo Alto Networks products
  • Strong troubleshooting skills related to networking (routing, IP, NAT, IPSEC VPNs) and how these interact with applications and users
  • Hands-on experience with at least one Public Cloud Provider (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Extensive background in internetworking, LAN, and WAN technologies
  • Experience with IDS/IPS solutions and technologies
  • Experience leading security solutions in large environments
  • Deep understanding of different security threats, internet protocols, and applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders, technical peers, and non-technical partners
  • Ability to work effectively with customer security & network teams to build confidence and drive adoption of Palo Alto Networks solutions
  • Proven ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously and work calmly under pressure
  • Relevant certifications such as PCNSE/PCNSC, CCNP (or equivalent JNCIP-ENT/CCIE/CCDE), CISSP, or CCIE/JNCIE
  • Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time

Responsibilities

  • Migrate customers from legacy firewall technologies to Palo Alto Networks platforms
  • Build custom security policies and application signatures, configured for our client’s needs
  • Analyze logs and events from the solution to perform initial troubleshooting and issue identification
  • Work with our Technical Assistance Center to troubleshoot and diagnose support cases
  • Provide after hours and weekend on-call support as needed to support maintenance activities
  • Progress and uphold expertise in deploying advanced Palo Alto Networks features and functionality
  • Maintain the company's solution and provide mentorship on code upgrades and best practices
  • Ensure client needs are met and deliverables produced on time according to specified project deliverables and scope
