Senior Python Backend Engineer in Serbia

Summary

The job is for a Senior Python Engineer at Tide, a rapidly growing finance & admin platform. The role involves designing, building, running, and scaling web applications to meet both the company’s and customer needs. The engineer will work closely with the tech team, product team, and other business members, using AWS, Python, and other technologies.

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Python Developer (working with this as a primary language)
• Basic understanding of software engineering fundamentals (SOLID, ACID, Testing)
• Hands-on experience with AWS and frameworks such as: Django, FastAPI, and Flask
• Extensive experience integrating with or creating REST APIs
• Teamwork skills with a problem-solving attitude

Responsibilities

• Define, own, maintain services your team owns from Tide’s service catalogue that fall in one of the domains
• Work with the product team to select technology partners
• Regularly align your team’s vision and roadmap with the target architecture within your domain and ensure the success of complex multi-domain initiatives
• Work closely with product owners, mobile & web engineers, data scientists, and other business members to translate requirements into well-engineered solutions

Preferred Qualifications

• (Desirable) Experience working with event-driven microservices or message queues
• (Desirable) An understanding of Salesforce integrations
