Senior QA Automation Engineer

Summary

Join Encora as a Senior QA Automation Engineer and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into efficient applications. Lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and improve software development practices. This remote position is located in Peru, Colombia, Costa Rica, or Bolivia. The role requires extensive software development experience and full-stack testing expertise. You will develop and execute comprehensive test strategies and define best practices for test automation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Extensive experience in software development with a focus on designing and building scalable applications
• Professional/ Advanced English skills
• +5 years of experience
• Full-stack testing expertise (UI, API, database, performance, and security testing)
• Automation experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, WebDriverIO
• Hands-on API testing using Postman, RestAssured, or Karate
• Proficiency in SQL queries and database validation
• Familiarity with performance testing methodologies to support load testing efforts
• Understanding of DevOps pipelines and CI/CD integration, though no direct DevOps work is required

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test strategies covering UI, API, database, and integration testing
• Design test plans for multi-tier applications, ensuring functionality across frontend, backend, and data layers
• Define best practices for test automation and continuous validation

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Agentic AI testing (LLM-based workflows, autonomous systems)
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Knowledge of containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes) for test environments
